Kind Leaders Help Team Members Shine!

By listening with open eyes, open ears, open mind and open heart!

How did you sleep last night?

Were you feeling nervous about heading back to work? Worried that you won’t live up to your boss’s expectations? That whatever you do won’t be good enough for them?

So often I hear from people that “they want to make their boss shine”!

Which isn’t surprising to me, as 95 % of the people I know and have worked with go to work with the best intentions of doing their best and making the most positive contribution to their team and their organization that they can!

Often times, though, in reality, it’s hard for them to accomplish that because they don’t have the tools they need to do their job optimally, they don’t have the training they need to use those tools to the best of their ability, and they don’t have the full support of their leader to make sure they have what they need to be successful as possible!

If you are a leader, and your team members don’t seem to be “making you shine”, please turn the mirror around, take a look at yourself, and ask “What can I do to help my team members be more successful?” Then go and spend time with them. See with your own eyes what would help them live up to your expectations. Hear with your own ears what they need to do their work more effectively and efficiently. Then open your mind and heart and take the needed steps to support them in every way you can! (Second Key Kind Leader Act Kindly Practice)

Kind Leaders know that when you make sure your team can shine…then you will truly shine as a leader!
